About Us

After spending more than 20 years working for some of the best known structured cabling installation companies in the region, Mike Ragan founded GT Telecom. Leveraging his experience in project management and customer relationships, Mike got the business off to a strong and profitable start. He built his team around some of the industry’s most experienced and qualified field technicians-many of which had worked with Mike in the past.

Today, GT Telecom is a well known, rapidly growing company that specializes in structured cable design, installation and testing. Headquartered in Doylestown, PA, the company serves the entire Philadelphia metropolitan area including some of the area’s best known companies, education and healthcare institutions.

Mike Ragan

RCDD/NTS, President & CEO

Mike has over 20 years of experience in the structured cabling industry with a concentration in the area of project management. He has held various positions, of increasing responsibilities ranging from managing small jobs to managing complex multi-million dollar projects. As the Director of Sales Engineering for the region’s largest cable installation firm, Mike was the customer’s key link between sales, design and installation.

In 2003, Mike was presented with an opportunity to create and to run a new Telecom Division at an Electrical Contracting company. Mike assumed the position of Vice President of Operations. Under Michael’s leadership, the Telecom Division experienced significant revenue and profitability growth. In addition to his operational responsibilities, Michael was also responsible for sales, customer service, finance, forecasting, job costing, strategic and business planning and other administrative accountabilities within the Telecom Division. Mike used this experience as a “springboard” to start his own company — GT Telecom.

Mike received a B.S. degree from LaSalle University with a double major in Management and Finance.

Mike has also achieved the BICSI credentials – RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) as well as his NTS (Network Technology Systems Designer).

Mark Nelson

Executive Vice President

Mark has 25 years of management experience focusing on starting and successfully growing entrepreneurial ventures. He served as CFO and Vice President of Finance for several highly successful start-up companies where he dealt with financial, management and administrative issues related to rapidly growing companies.

Mark is a graduate of Penn State University. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and sits on the Board of the Mainline Association for Continuing Education.

Patrick Layton

V.P., Business Development

Pat has over 11 years experience in the structured cabling industry with a concentration in the area of Business Development. In those years, he has also gained valuable project management training and experience that has allowed him to work directly with his clients from the first meeting and presentation to project completion. He has completed projects of varying size and scope and prides himself on always meeting the needs and expectations of his clients.

As V.P. for GT Telecom, he is consistently involved in networking amongst the various “layers” of the structured cabling industry in an effort to stay in tune with this ever-changing market and help in the growth of the company. His relationships within the business and construction community are, and have been, a critical element in his ability to gain new opportunities and increase company revenue.

Pat received his B.S. degree in Business Administration from Neumann University.

Joseph Snell

Vice President of Security

Joseph Snell joins GT-Security as Vice President of Security, a new division of GT-Telecom. Joseph has excelled at every position in the security integration business from installer, technician, project management, account management, sales manager and regional support. Joseph has also worked as a national support representative for one of the world’s largest security manufacturers. He provided remote and onsite professional services for security integrators and end users. He brings 21 years of experience in the security and communication industry and is well versed in many of the top security products. He has successfully managed and executed multimillion dollar security projects while focusing on the customers’ needs and expectations. Joseph’s educational background consists of Electronic Engineering and many trade certifications. Joseph is committed to supporting a positive culture and experience for both the new security installation team and our new customers.

Jerry Vitale

Project Manager – Special Projects Division

Jerry Vitale has over 30 years experience in both Structured Cabling and the Electrical industry. Jerry’s career began as a field technician where he began as a cable splicer and outside plant specialist. After almost 15 years in the telecommunications industry Jerry decided to put his field experience to use by becoming an estimator / project manager. His vast knowledge and versatility has enabled him to complete hundreds of successful projects, of various size and scope. Today Jerry services many Fortune 500 companies that rely on him for all their telecommunications needs.

Jerry has specialized in the design and installation of Indoor (DAS) Distributed Antenna Systems. Along with managing local projects – Jerry occasionally travels the country for GT Telecom managing and performing DAS installations.

Jim Dors

Project Manager (National) / Estimator

Jim Dors has over 16 years of experience in the Structured Cabling industry. Jim’s career began in the year 2000 as an Operations Manager for one of Philadelphia’s premier contractor’s.   His roles included:    project management, payroll, dispatch, scheduling, inventory control and procurement.  Jim grew up in the business at this firm and soon became a seasoned PM with many Fortune 500 clients.

In 2010, Jim decided to leave the contractor world to go work on the supply side with Accutech Corporation.  Jim held an Inside Sales position for three years and was very successful with triple digit sales growth.   It wasn’t long before Jim was lured back to the installation business in 2013 by GT Telecom.  Jim has been with GT Telecom since 2013 and is one of our key project managers / estimator’s.   Jimmy currently serves as one of our in-house experts in the discipline of sound masking.

Tom Mcgowan

Project Manager – Security/Electrical

Tom McGowan joins GT-Security as a Security/Electrical Project Manager & Estimator. Tom has been in various sales and management roles throughout his 15 year career in the business. Tom is a skilled project manager with a broad range of business and management experience. His successes are a direct result of his abilities as a decisive problem solver, effective communicator, and team builder. He has completed numerous mission-critical security/electrical projects for some of the region’s most prominent companies. His experience in field operations, estimating, procurement and work force relations has made an immediate positive impact here at GT Security.

Toms educational background consists of a Business Administration Degree from St. Joseph’s University, 7 years in the Financial Services world, and his own company in the trade services field.

Bob Sessa

Operations Manager

Bob is one of the most experienced and highly qualified Project Managers in the structured cabling industry. He started his career as an installation technician and has held increasingly more responsible positions over the last 20 years.

As GT’s Operations Manager, Bob oversees the work of several installation crews insuring that all work exceeds customer requirements and technical standards. His reputation and qualifications have earned him the respect of his crews as well as the respect and gratitude of our customers.

Dean F. Weintraub

Project Manager – Security/Electrical

Dean Weintraub brings more than 40 years experience to the company. A master electrician, Dean has extensive experience in commercial electrical contracting, electrical design, design-build and commercial service. Working in the electrical world since he was 13 years old, Dean graduated from an Electrical Apprenticeship School in 1982. Between 1989 And 1996, Dean worked for his late Father’s company John Ashe Associates and since then has worked at several prominent Electrical Contractor’s serving the Philadelphia Tri-state area. Dean is hard working, extremely organized and prides himself on managing some of the largest electrical installations in Philadelphia over his many years in the business. Dean is dedicated to being a team player and doing what he can to help out the team here at GT and our many loyal customers.

Dan Kelly

Director of Sales Security & Electrical Division

Dan currently serves as the Director of Sales for the GT Security and Electrical Divisions. Dan has over 25 years of experience in the Electrical Industry as an IBEW Journeyman Electrician, Project Manager, and Estimator. Dan also has extensive experience in Sales and Business Development from positions he has held with Electrical Suppliers and Manufacturer Representative Firms in the Philadelphia Region.

Dan graduated from the IBEW National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee and Temple University’s AIM Electrical Engineering Technology Certificate Program.

Dan also has an Associate Degree from Montgomery County Community College in Business Administration and Management.

Adam Berkle

Sales Manager

Adam is currently the Sales Manager for the Telecom Division. He has 5+ years of sales experience, mainly in the remodeling industry.

He brings an extensive background in Business Development and Sales in the construction industry to GT Telecom. Adam’s hands on approach and willingness to participate actively in the day-to-day operations of GT make him a well-rounded asset to the GT Team. Our clients will benefit from Adam’s work ethic and broad knowledge of GT operations. His focus is the management of all operational marketing and customer relationship activities. Adam provides market feedback to company management regarding prospect needs, competitive offerings, and business development ideas.

He Graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Degree in Sport Management and Business Administration.
